Toothache

Toothache can occur from a number of problems with teeth. If the ache is severe consult a dentist.

Symptoms

Steps
1   Use floss to remove any substance from between teeth
2   Try to rinse your mouth with salt and water to wash away any bacteria infecting the tooth.
3   Apply an oral toothache gel to the affected area.
4   Take some aspirin or ibuprofen to relieve the pain.
5   If symptoms persist or increase in severity. See your dentist.
Warnings
Call your dentist if you experience a fever, an earache, or drainage from the gums in the infected tooth area.
DO NOT place aspirin directly against gums
DO NOT give aspirin to children under 16 years of age.
Make sure the person is not allergic to aspirin or ibuprofen
Tips
Applying clove oil helps
Placing a cold compress or ice packs on the face over the affected area can help as well. For some people a warm compress may comfort more.
