The most common cause of vomiting in dogs is dietary indiscretion (eating something inappropriate or a sudden change in diet). Other common causes of vomiting in dogs are ingestion of a foreign body, travel sickness, and infectious parasitic and viral diseases. Vomiting may also be caused by a serious underlying medical condition. First aid will help to calm your dog's stomach down until professional help is received. Puppies can be come very sick and even die if their vomiting is not immediately addressed. Do not wait to call the veterinarian if a puppy is vomiting.

Symptoms

Steps
1   Remove his feeding dish to restrict food and give the tummy some rest for 12-24 hours
2   Offer smaller amount of water like a tablespoon at a time every 15-20 min
3   Give ice cubes for them to lick.
4   Use an eye dropper to provide some Pepto-Bismol at 1/2 - 1 teaspoon per 5 lb of body weight to a max of 2 tablespoons up to 3 times per day
5   Make sure to tilt his head up and squirt the pepto-bismol and hold his mouth closed to make sure that he swallows it
6   Seek medical attention if the vomiting persists
Warnings
Rapid dehydration can occur with vomiting
DO NOT give more than 2 tablespoons of pepto-bismol
DO NOT leave food in his dish he will continue to eat if food is available
Tips
Drinking lots of water will make your dog's stomach more upset so offer a small amount of water frequently
Signs of dehydration include: sticky gums, stringy saliva, increased skin tinting/elasticity, sunken eyes, collapse, & no longer drinking
